This is the report that I shared with those not with us...
What a night! We arrived at Coachella around 4:00 p.m. and I was amazed at how big everything was. The only thing I have to compare it to is the pictures of Woodstock.
There were about 10 areas where different artists would play...simply amazing! It was 104 degrees and very dry heat...the things we do to see our girl :)
I wanted to go immediately to the Sahara dance tent to see what I was in store for. I decided that I should just wait in the tent if I wanted to get a good spot for the show. They let 400 people that arrived at 11 a.m. in the pit, so I knew that was out of the question.
I was able to work my way right up to the barracades on the right side of the stage in front of a huge monitor...the only question was...could I stay there for almost 4 hours waiting for Miss M? Of course!
There were people passing out around us and we had to help lift them over the barracades to the marines who were serving as security. We watched the DJs...Kaskade and then Paul Oakenfold which were both simply amazing...I felt like we were at a great dance club with killer music!
By the time Madonna was due on, there were about 30,000 people from what the paper says today watching the stage...I have never felt so excited and scared at the same time! Finally at 8:30 (20 minutes late!)
...Madonna made her presence opening with Hung Up and saying, "It is so fucking hot." She had about 8 dancers with her including Miram, Cloud, Dawn, and the tap dancer from ReInvention Tour and then several others I recognized from her recent videos.
She then went into Get Together and she was looking so fierce. Long blond hair and her arms are ripped! She looks better than I have ever seen her.
After Get Together she played electric guitar for I Love New York where she said "(the actual f word) Off" instead of f off and then the line about going to Texas she said, "and you can s*** GB's blank!" It was so fierce!
When she was talking to the audience, someone threw water on the stage and she said, "don't throw water on my stage mother f'rs(she said the actual word, of course!)." She wiped it up and then threw the towel into the audience.
She then played guitar for Ray of Light which was amazing...I really hope that she does that on this tour...you will love it!
Let It Will Be was next with the video from KoKo playing in the background (her in the red dress).
She put her hands down (there) and then put them in her mouth...the crowd went crazy!
After the song she said, "Do you want me to take my pants off?" Everyone went nuts and she said, "I thought you would say that." Her costume dresser from the documentary came out and helped her take her pants off over her fierce boots.
She had on a purple leotard and put a purple boa around her neck. She then asked, "Does my *** look okay?" The crowd went nuts and she said it again..."I said, does my *** look good?"
She went into Everybody to close the show. What an amazing night! It was basically the KoKo performance with Ray of Light added as the 4th song. So great to see her perform with the dancers for 6 songs.
I thought that this performance would be an introduction or some numbers from the tour, but definitely not.
This performance did not give any previews to the upcoming concert which I am not even more excited about.
Hopefully there will be some photos posted on the internet so you can see how fierce her hairs looks...loved it! I wish that you could have all been her to experience the craziness.
