hotel is set, now to buy dramamine

I'm having a great day so far....I got to stop and visit with Yvonne, Mama, this morning....we chatted and laughed so hard she had to go inside to use the bathroom.....

Then came home and planned, booked hotel to stay at when I arrive in Rome at The Fiumincino Airport....I will get into Rome, short ride then stay there and sleep...no doubt, I will get my butt to Piazza Navona which is my all~time favorite Piazza in the entire ancient city of Rome. It's funny I'm already getting my Italian brain going and thinking more and more in Italian.....guess, I'm really preparing to get over there.

You don't really have to know Italian though, to make it in Rome....most Italians speak English, especially those who work at stores, boutiques, even the cafes....even when I speak to them in Italian, they can still tell I'm American so that part of it is a bit hilarious to me and upsetting. I've learned to get over it though and just proud that I speak Italian well, and they want me to feel comfy and so we speak English.

It wasn't that way the last time I was in France though, so I'm hoping this time, my first time to Cannes, will be different. It's been two years, so two years of mental growth should hopefully help and it will make my experience in France better.

Now today I just need to get out and get some dramamine...I use the non~drowsy formula and it works well while I'm onboard the ship. I checked yesterday and it looks as though I'll be able to travel with my laptop, so brought it home this morning from my Satellite Pasadena office.

Listed a beautiful Rancho Cucamonga home yesterday that's just a few years old....actually 4 or 5 and hope to have it sold before I get back or shortly thereafter. We priced it very reasonably so I do expect a decent amount of showings.

Changed out system over to "Matrix" for the Realtor's MLS and I love it. Had no problems entering the new listing in, which I was thankful of.

I'm planning a nice "send off" lunch with My Family on Friday, at Saffron's. I really can't wait. My family is so important to me and has really always been there for me, to cheer me on, and to help me when I need it. Isn't that what family should be about? I sometimes feel that I'm the one in charge of my family, instead of Papa, but when push comes to shove, we all have are designated places that somehow "fit" and all works when I allow that to happen.

Papa is taking me to LAX on Sunday morning and I will have to be there by 5AM....am I going to be tired? Yes. I leave with mixed emotions.

Not having had a real vacation in two years, it's time....so I know there may be a time or two or three that I get homesick. I only hope that with activities that are going on aboard the Carnival Liberty, and all the ports we're stopping at, will keep my mind and body occupied during my travels abroad alone.

Well, gotta get going and shower....Yvette, my sis, may stop by today, but I doubt it....am going to do some laundry, don't really feel like packing, but it would be a great idea to start.

When I received my tickets at my front door a few moments ago, and opened then and saw that the ticket says "Grand 12 Day Mediterranean Cruise" I just got SUPER EXCITED. Hope it's a great experience.....Never been to Croatia....Can't wait to spend a day in Barcelona again...loved it there last time I went on a cruise....(*7 day) and had a dog to get home to and was homesick the last night in Barcelona before headed back home.....this time may be a bit different...ok, now I'm babbling...ciao for now!

Hope you're having an excellent day, although you won't get this until after the fact....

**Pic is of some cops in Rome, just in front of the Trevi Fountain....took this pic back in September, 2002.....my first trip to Italia, since 1979. OMG, THAT was so fun!!
