I know, I know, it’s late and why is Toddy still up? Well, I have had an eventful day, although we were at sea all day. Today was the last day like this. From here on out, we are in a new port every morning:
Thursday: Barcelona
Friday: Cannes
Saturday: Livorno (Tuscany Region...Yippee!!)
Sunday: Rome and disembark
Then I have one night in Rome....near Castel San Angelo....is where my motel is....very close to Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and also St. Peter’s. Have a few things that I want to pick up in Rome, just need to see how much luggage space I will have left. I really have not bought alot of souvenirs or gifts for anyone. It’s just been more "time away" and sightseeing.....
I laid out today in the Cloudy sky and still managed to get sunburnt, a bit. Kinda a reddish, brown color.....I am hoping that I don’t peel, but we shall see.
Also, worked out and did cardio, abs, biceps and lats....didn’t eat as much....although I just had three pieces of pizza around 1130pm earlier this evening (yesterday at this point!).
Emailed my family several pics from Taormina.....and a long email....the internet cafe is convenient although it’s expensive.
It will have cost me a minimum of $200 for me to have internet access from the ship. What’s a guy to do though? It’s been kinda a life saver a bit too, being able to email my family my trip’s progress, pics, etc. Let them know that I miss them and love them....etc. Also, writing in the journal has helped to keep my sanity....being away in Europe, alone, etc.....on a boat with 2,500-3,000 strangers....talk about a guy getting overwhelmed occasionally.
Pat and Anita have been a Godsend...
We watched a Broadway show tonight in the Venetian Palace, had pizza, chit~chatted about other cruises and cruise lines, etc. Claude, their friend, is also an interesting guy. He is also an entrepreneur and he’s from Montreal, Canada.
Well, I’m getting kinda tired, so I’m going to call it a night at this point.
I have no idea what I’ll do tomorrow......in Barcelona....for sure, I will visit the Starbucks.....LOL
