MISSION STARBUCKS COMPLETED!!
What a fabulous day in Barcelona! I managed to find the "New" Starbucks and got a few little silly things there that are just offered free, but to bring home to my best Starbucks buddies!!
Some of them don’t even live close....hmmmm, you know who you are!
Bought a tshirt for a family member while there, took pics of the Piazza and also the Christopher Columbus statue, which is a centralized landmark near the water. La Rambla (or can’t remember now if it’s Las Ramblas) is a main street kinda like Euclid Avenue in Upland with tall trees in the center....the lanes for cars to drive on just one or two lanes wide on each side and there’s a huge amount of space in the center for Vendors, these are street Vendors. Then there are also stores on the outsides of the car lanes, so it’s quite the place to visit or at least cruise by while in Barcelona.
Did make it into a church and prayed and lit another candle...the biggest they had, heck, I could afford it, it was like 2 Euros, so less than $2 for the possibility and "energy" to be driven to my wishes/prayers.
While at Starbucks had a regular decaf and that last me the entire rest of my time in Barcelona. Really didn’t do much there, but walk around, shoot a few photos here and there, mostly including the sky, which was very clear looking today from the rains that Barcelona has been having, to my knowledge, the past week or so. Also, we WERE VERY FORTUNATE AND I’M SO THANKFUL for the clear weather...I wore jeans and a v neck tshirt and at one point, I was actually perspiring!! (sp?)
I took pics of the Starbucks, yes, You know I’m obsessive about things I enjoy! It was two stories and actually had marble floors, too. The products they sell were similar in the container/mug/machinery department. The desserts were about the same, although it was a different twist on what we have in America.
I’m writing you tonight from the cigar bar....which is just outside the internet cafe. Came down here after my cardio workout and laying out this afternoon for about two hours, then showering, etc.....actually the order was layout, workout then shower and din din.....Enjoyed two "made to order" steaks from the grille and a few thinly sliced french fries which weren’t the freshest or warmest....although I ate them anyway and enjoyed just the same. The steaks were really worth waiting for!
Anyway, there’s a pianist in here playing and nobody is smoking in here right now..I don’t think it’s allowed when someone’s performing (?)....when I waltzed in with my laptop and over the shoulder leather bag (carrying extension cord and mandatory portable cd walkman ~ listening to one of the Best of George Michael CD’s that I made earlier this year), the pianist was performing, "Moonriver" and a few people were singing it....I LOVE THAT SONG!! Anyway, the pianist looks like he’s done, so watch for the smoke cloud starting soon....did I bring my eyedrops? LOL
So, now I’m on to do my pics on the laptop ~ which involved looking them over and resizing all the keepers, of which I’m thinking today I have about 40-50 keepers....took over 100....
Did wear my new Prada sunglasses, and new necklace (silver) was on the fence about it and then thought, get rid of your fear, Todd. It’ll be fine and sure enough, it was.
Well, gonna get to those now...
BEAUTIFUL BARCELONA IS BEHIND US NOW....NOW, WE ARE EN ROUTE TO CANNES, FRANCE.....FRENCH RIVIERA HERE WE COME!!!!
